The DJ

Hi, I'm Demetrius Gravette (aka DJ BIGG MEECH). As a former United States Marine....I am very proud to be a veteran-owned & operated, (FULLY INSURED) small business located in the heart of the DMV.

 

DeeJay, and electronic enthusiast alike...Demetrius hails out of Charles County, MD (where he spent most of his childhood and early adult life). He is a very energetic deejay who has hosted MANY events all along the east coast. With over 15 years of experience in deejaying and MCing in the MD/VA/DC/PA/NY/NJ/FL area, he is extremely knowledgeable in all types of music. Part of his expertise is knowing how to read a crowd and playing for mixed audiences of all different backgrounds and musical tastes. Demetrius has deejayed for American, Latin, Greek, Dutch, Polish, French, Indian, Native American, Asian, Jewish, Irish, Caribbean, African and many other cultural audiences. Demetrius is not only a great DJ, but he has also made a name for himself as a talented MC and spokesperson.

 

The Music

Music has been his passion and therapy since he was a teenager recording songs on to cassette tapes. He enjoys getting lost in the joyful feelings it stirs up while also providing a beat that commands his feet to start moving. Demetrius ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influences dating all the way back to the 1940's-50's to as recent as TODAY'S CURRENT HITS. This translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of music that he loves best....( “For me, it’s all about mood and a deep, hypnotic groove… playing tracks that get you tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realizing it, regardless of genre, tempo, style, or release date. “ ).

 

As a very active member in his local community, Demetrius is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene. Though he loves playing in nightclubs, bars, backyard patios, venues and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. As an experienced deejay, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically while expanding his deejay business in the lighting, sound and karaoke world as well.
